Charles “CDP” Payne has emerged into one of the most prolific and talented singers, songwriters, composers and producers to come out of the Northern Virginia area. As a child reared in Manassas, VA, CDP has always known that his calling was to entertain the world. A shy young man, CDP used his songwriting skills as an outlet to convey his message through song to the world. During high school, CDP started playing the keyboard as a means to attract the young ladies, but as time passed CDP began to master his craft becoming a great musician and was ready to share his talents with the world. 

In 1997, CDP’s production company (“CDP Productions”) and his recording studio (“Visionz Studio”) was a product of his love for music. It was in Visionz Studio that CDP wrote, produced and recorded his first single, “Don’t Start Nothing You Can’t Finish”. This CD, which was equipped with 12 tracks, was an enormous success for CDP, seducing the world with his charismatic sound and flawless lyrics. The CD gained immediate mass appeal not only in the United States but in France and Germany as well. “Don’t Start Nothing You Can’t Finish (Remix)”, “Crazy”, and “From Me With Love” all went number one on the Riffage.com R&B charts. 

“Don’t Start Nothing You Can’t Finish (Remix)” went to number two on the Riffage.com Pop charts. In addition, “Don’t Start Nothing You Can’t Finish (Remix)” 
is also featured on the “Best Of Riffage.com” CD, that was included in a book on MP3’s and was in constant rotation on radio stations on the west coast. 

Reminiscent of old time greats such as Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, CDP has quickly become known as a soulful balladeer. CDP fans alike, could not fathom such a young entertainer brining back the heart felt love from the days of old with a new style, CDP style. 

Within a short period of time, CDP’s reputation has preceded him. CDP writes and produces for other artists in not only R&B and Hip-Hop as well as Gospel, catapulting these artists to their next creative level. CDP’s commitment to excellence has made him the areas most sought after producer. 

CDP has been performing in and around the Washington, D.C.Northern Virginia area, packing them in and selling more CD’s than he ever imagined. With his impeccable stage presence, which includes three piece suits and hats, his popularity has increased among the ladies. 

Not one to limit himself and put a cap on his many talents, CDP wrote, produced and performed on his debut Gospel CD “Walking With Jesus”, which is in constant rotation on 1430AM, “The Gospel Train” and other Washington DC area stations. 

Not to rest and always recording at a feverish pace. He released, “Man To Man”, which boasts 17 tracks that delve into the mysticisms of love and 

the realities of life and the opportunity that hard work provides. 

With such a creative flow going CDP came right back at them in 2001 with the release of “Soundtrack To My Life” which was his best work to date. Featuring, the street anthem, “Something About You” and the ladies choice “All The Way” which sealed his reputation as a soul singer. 

Taking time off to grow as a writer and producer. CDP is back and is better than ever. With a more defined and mature sound. He is about to release his long awaited cd, “Situations”. The first single “Gone” is already being called one of his best up tempo tracks to date. “Situations” features “Swagga Back” and the soon to be hit “Treat Her Likes She Needs To Be Treated”.
